The internet appearance brought us the online dating world, as an alternative to real dates. Starting from the 16th century, people have been trying to find the right match through matrimonial announces. The matrimonial announces in newspapers only disappeared after the apparition of the internet and online dating.
We all know at least one married couple that first met online. Online dating will continue to thrive over years, and might eventually even become the main method of meeting people. Like activities that thrived online, there are online dating guides just like there is a guide to swing trading, to emailing marketing and to online selling.
The matrimonial ads appeared firstly in a conservatory Great Britain. The matrimonial agency follow the ads very shortly, as investors decided to make a profit. Because in the 17th if you reached the age of 21 and weren’t yet married was no pride matter, the matrimonial agencies soon became a mandatory habit. Matrimonial services were there, still no one admitted using them, especially if they had certain social statuses.
And matrimonial services were used even then, by people who had different or strange sexual orientations. The great success of gay matrimonial announces was based on total confidentiality.
Later, after the soldiers that participated into the Second World War used these matrimonial services for sole sexual purposes, the method became bohemian and unconventional in the eyes of the ordinary people. Still, they have survived and developed from newspaper ads and agencies, to online websites that offer online dating services and matchmaking opportunities and even to TV reality shows. The strange matching shows take a group of people and evaluate their evolution over a couple of months. If the respective conditions are met and a couple or more are made, a winner will be selected.
Online dating services were in the beginning just like matrimonial agencies, meaning for pay, but slowly gave up on this policy. Some sites require pay for professional matchmaking. Because so many people use today these online dating services it’s impossible to call them unconventional or shameful anymore.
