You met someone who gives you butterflies in your stomach. People all have different ideas of what love means. Some people are in lust rather than love. love and lust can be a little tricky to understand, since even though they are two different ideas, most people use them interchangebly.

Lust is a strong, sexual feeling of attraction towards someone. Defined by its sexual nature, lust is mostly made up of sexual chemistry rather than having genuinely caring feeling towards someone. What differentiates lust from love is that lust is purely about physical attraction and only acting on that.

Although physical attraction plays a role, there is much more depth to love under the thin veneer of attraction. When you are in love, its kind of similar to having a best friend who you can share stuff with, but you are also attracted to each other sexually. Love is being able to share a part of you and having that reciprocated back. Love is a good feeling and should push you towards being a better person.

With those things  if you have the following characteristics, then you are probably in love.

-The person you think you are in love with makes you feel special and good about yourself.
-While its normal to feel a little jealous, the feeling always subsides because you have faith that your partner would never hurt you.
-You can show your true feelings when you are together, even if there may be conflict, because whether theres conflict or not you know it will be alright afterwards.
-Your partner would never force you to choose between your family/friends or them.
-You nor your partner never need to challenge your feelings for each other, because you both know you feel the same way.
-You can let your hair down and be yourself around your partner more than any other person.

Although it would not be possible to have a comprehensive list since everyone’s situation is unique, these characteristics are common for most people who are in love.
