I was dating a guy who was always online on match.com.can he be trusted?

I was dating this guy who I met on my staff. things were going really well until you find a day came on match.com and I found that it had sent a personal ad on myspace and be supported exclusively by me. I ended the relationship because? I had suspicions that he was looking for someone while they dated. We had much fun and now I doubt and I'm wondering if now is too late did a mistake

You did the right thing, don’t go back on your decision. I would take it as a slap in the face if someone posted a personal ad while telling me that we’re exclusive. Why else would he be in match.com, a notorious dating site, if he’s exclusive? To make friends? Don’t be naive, honey.

I don’t think you made a mistake. If a man is to be exclusive to you, he shouldn’t have any interst in Match.com or any other sorts of personals. So I think he was leading you on, or just wasn’t taking you seriously.

yes, just as much as you would trust any man you met at a bar, grocery store, whats the difference…….. besides for you to know how much he was on match.com that means you were on there that much also

I don’t think that he can be trusted if he is on dating sites while dating you. I think he was looking for more people.

Hard to determine, but if I was him I would have stopped looking for other girls when I found the right one for me.

However, you have to realise that these things are *addictive* so it might have been impossible for him to stop logging on to check for messages, and also it’s possible that it was so normal for him to do it that he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong.

You didn’t make a mistake. Why do you think you made a mistake ? I did the same thing..I found the guy i was seeing on a few singles websites while i was seeing him.

Not a good sign..It means they say they’re going out with you but they’re not really ready for being exclusive with anyone that they’re seeing. Behavior like that basically is no respect to you or me. You did the right thing. You need a guy who is commited to you and honest to you while you two are dating or in a serious relationship… you don’t need a guy who is keeping his options open.

Look at what you wrote and posted. The individual was “logged in every day on match.com [and]…he had posted a personal ad on myspace while claiming to be exclusive with [you].”

He might not even been looking for someone else (which is very obvious), he potentially WAS dating others while dating you…or would have started dating others while he was dating you, or while you were engaged, or even married and with children. He was underhanded and a lier (he claimed to be exclusive with you). There is such a thing as emotional infidelity. He was not “true” to you. Regardless of whether its too late to go back to this individual or not, from my point of view, you made the right decision.

You may be currently lonely, you may have had fun with this person (which makes the break up all that more painful), but you will find someone who WILL be true; have faith…and stick to your convictions and keep your integrity.

Sounds like what goes around comes around. How would you know he was constantly logged into Match.com unless you were logged in as well which means that the two of you are just as guilty. Also, maybe he was also keeping his options open just in case your relationship together didn’t work. I met my fiance online on Yahoo personals and I have also kept my profile on there while we were dating just in case things didn’t work out. I never cheated and never will. Give him another chance and get more of the facts before you accuse.
